Human Resources Generalist

 

Scope:

Responsible for the overall administration of the bankís Human Resources function to include but not limited to performance management, training, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews, develops and makes recommendations to senior management for improvement of the bankís human resource policies, procedures and practices.  Provides advice and guidance on the interpretation of human resources polices as they relate to individuals and company objectives.  Communicates changes in personnel policies, procedures or other human resources programs.

     

  • Maintains knowledge of human resources management industry trends and programs.  Ensures that the bank is in compliance with federal and state legislation that affects all aspects of the human resources function.  Meets required deadlines associated with legislation (i.e. ERISA notices, Department of Labor notices and postings, IRS filings, etc.)

     

  • Serves as the administrator of the BVS online training system for the bank.  Assures that employees receive the required financial institutional training for the banking industry.  Also tracks outside webinar, seminar, and conference training that employees participate in.

     

  • Provides support and counseling to managers in the discipline and discharge process.

     

  • Obtains annual bids upon renewal, confers with management regarding benefits costs and makes recommendation as to employee and employer cost sharing. Effectively manages the annual open enrollment process.

     

  • Coordinates and participates in new hire orientation.  Organizes internal training for newly hired managers and above to ensure that they understand and can effectively carry out their leadership duties and responsibilities.

     

  • Develops and maintains a human resource tracking system to meet the bankís personnel information needs to include but not limited to  training, employee skills inventory, promotions, demotions, transfers and leaves of absence.

     

  • Actively participates in the bank Internal Operations Committee meetings on a monthly basis.  Participates as needed on other committees and special projects.

     

  • Ensures 100% compliance with bank policies and procedures.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelorís degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.

Five years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience.

PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
